Artist's Description

This electric Valentine is made from weathered fence picket wood and artist oils with a hand pounded aluminum disc and a black glass "puddle" in the center. The outer edge of the heart is raised about 1 inch so the heart slopes upward from the center. This, along with the wood grain and the paint, make for an explosive feel.

Denny McNeill

I was born August 22, 1948 in Cortez, CO. My family moved to Littleton, CO. in 1961, and I graduated High School from Littleton High School 1966. Then I went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO, 1966 – 1968, but did not graduate. I never went to art school. I am a completely self-taught artist and have had a good teacher. I began framing houses to earn a living in 1977 and worked in the construction trades for the next 25-28 years. I moved to Los Angeles in1982 and had a door installation business until 2002. In 2001, I found my soulmate and love of my life. We moved to Colorado in March of 2002 and we were married in June of that year.
