Artist's Description
A GREAT AMERICAN is a depiction of the great American Bison, standing alone on the infinite plain, suggesting majesty, power, humility, and the survivor instinct . The art is made with weathered fence picket wood mounted on plywood and colored with water based fence stain. The back side is covered with heavy brown paper. Everything about the piece is very durable and intended for interior installation only. It comes fitted with hanging wire and apparatus. The piece is Titled, and signed on the back and the front shows the artist's monogram with year of creation.
About Denny McNeill
I was born August 22, 1948 in Cortez, CO. My family moved to Littleton, CO. in 1961, and I graduated High School from Littleton High School 1966. Then I went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO, 1966 – 1968, but did not graduate. I never went to art school. I am a completely self-taught artist and have had a good teacher. I began framing houses to earn a living in 1977 and worked in the construction trades for the next 25-28 years. I moved to Los Angeles in1982 and had a door installation business until 2002. In 2001, I found my soulmate and love of my life. We moved to Colorado in March of 2002 and we were married in June of that year.
