VESSEL 1 is from my childhood memories seeing wonderful Navajo pottery in the Southwest Colorado region. This art is made with weathered fence picket wood and colored with water based fence and deck stains. The vessel it self is grained and colored wood applied to a hand carved "mannequin" so it has an actual relief of about 3/4" The overall size of the piece is about 24" x 24" and the vessel measures about 14" x 16". The hand is from a tracing of my step granddaughter's hand.

I was born August 22, 1948 in Cortez, CO. My family moved to Littleton, CO. in 1961, and I graduated High School from Littleton High School 1966. Then I went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO, 1966 – 1968, but did not graduate. I never went to art school. I am a completely self-taught artist and have had a good teacher. I began framing houses to earn a living in 1977 and worked in the construction trades for the next 25-28 years. I moved to Los Angeles in1982 and had a door installation business until 2002. In 2001, I found my soulmate and love of my life. We moved to Colorado in March of 2002 and we were married in June of that year.
