MANDALA 5 is the 5th in a series of mandalas. I don't title these mandalas because I want them to be for the viewer whatever they perceive them to be. This piece has a bit of Southwest design to it and yet it is also eclectic. It is made with weathered wood glued and pinned to plywood. It is colored with water based deck and fence stain which is very durable and color fast.

I was born August 22, 1948 in Cortez, CO. My family moved to Littleton, CO. in 1961, and I graduated High School from Littleton High School 1966. Then I went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO, 1966 – 1968, but did not graduate. I never went to art school. I am a completely self-taught artist and have had a good teacher. I began framing houses to earn a living in 1977 and worked in the construction trades for the next 25-28 years. I moved to Los Angeles in1982 and had a door installation business until 2002. In 2001, I found my soulmate and love of my life. We moved to Colorado in March of 2002 and we were married in June of that year.
