KARISTAR is a radiating star configuration in white and blue. the center is black glass which is a reflection of the universe. The white suggests spiritual purity. and the deepening blue conveys strong character/personality. The piece was made to honor the memory of the niece of the artist. She gave up her battle with cancer on November 1, 2021. She is lovingly remembered by family and many fiends.

I was born August 22, 1948 in Cortez, CO. My family moved to Littleton, CO. in 1961, and I graduated High School from Littleton High School 1966. Then I went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO, 1966 – 1968, but did not graduate. I never went to art school. I am a completely self-taught artist and have had a good teacher. I began framing houses to earn a living in 1977 and worked in the construction trades for the next 25-28 years. I moved to Los Angeles in1982 and had a door installation business until 2002. In 2001, I found my soulmate and love of my life. We moved to Colorado in March of 2002 and we were married in June of that year.
