Artist's Description
BLUE BARK LILLY is a delightful flower made with tree bark, a rock and a twig, mounted on a plywood backing. All is painted with water base stain paint. the charm of this art is the spontaneity of tree bark made to take on a flower appearance. The swirling effect of the multi-blue background give the piece a dynamic motion that flows well with the overall gesture of the image. This was made at a time when the artist was without his tools, workspace, and had a limited inventory of paint colors. the bark, twig and rock were found objects along a walking trail.
