About Denny McNeill
I was born August 22, 1948 in Cortez, CO. My family moved to Littleton, CO. in 1961, and I graduated High School from Littleton High School 1966. Then I went to Western State College in Gunnison, CO, 1966 – 1968, but did not graduate. I never went to art school. I am a completely self-taught artist and have had a good teacher. I began framing houses to earn a living in 1977 and worked in the construction trades for the next 25-28 years. I moved to Los Angeles in1982 and had a door installation business until 2002. In 2001, I found my soulmate and love of my life. We moved to Colorado in March of 2002 and we were married in June of that year. My Art Career I started sculpting in wood and making furniture in 1969. Over the years, I entered many shows and Arts Fairs and frequently won Best of Show in the Sculpture category. I started making jewelry in 2012. In 2014, my wife and I moved from the Black Forest in Colorado Springs, CO to Littleton, CO. That is when I began making creative wall art out of weathered wood and I continue to create mosaics & creative weathered wood wall art today. I have never stopped creating art since I began in earnest in 1969. I have carved hundreds of sculptures out of all kinds of woods and have made several hundred pieces of jewelry out of exotic woods and acrylic resin. I currently re-purpose weathered cedar fence pickets into unique wall art and have recently been adding color to my work with artist’s oils. I swear this is true. Denny McNeill
